Coffee is always served to guests, and if politely declined, tea will be offered instead. Usually, 3 cups are served.

Greetings involving women and children involve 3 kisses on the cheek, alternating each cheek. Men shake hands and move in to bump shoulders several times.

Mealtime consists of everybody sitting around in a circle. Meals are always eaten when visiting a guest’s house out of respect.

Even though they are very close culturally and linguistically to Ethiopia, DO NOT call them Ethiopians.
